Quick Thoughts On Content

1) I'd like this to be a "regular" comic. So maybe a page or 2 credits, where the ads would have been. But the rest pure comic book content (no "added value" articles etc).

2) If this gets off the ground, I'd like to try to make a small series. So I thought that each issue could have a slight theme Horror, Sci-fi etc. Well at least for a couple of lead stories, but not the whole book.

3) The content would be discussed with the forum acting as an "editorial board". Bit of group discussions / bargaining :)

4) I'd like to keep the cover price down, but want some real substance. So 68 pages would be cool. Not all would have to be in color.

What we put in the book is a different and much nicer problem, than how we actually create and distribute it!

Oh, come on. You must have at least one prose story consisting of two-pages. Otherwise, how will you get your second-class mailing permit?

Lol ... No I meant no new content. Text stories are definitely in. I am sure we have some classic sci-fi authors floating around.

I'd be interested in contributing illustrations or art in some degree.  I've self-published 14 books on Amazon: one art book, 11 train graffiti books, and 2 train moniker/explore books.

I am currently purchasing (way too many) facsimiles.  Mostly PS Artbooks, and the material being printed by Marvel and DC. I prefer reading older material on paper, even tho I have accumulated a huge chunk of digital files from here and the other site. As you probably know, there are companies producing high quality “xerox” looking GA facsimiles in both comic book size and 8 1/2 X 11 inch formats. I’ve purchased a few items from several places.  They all have merits and drawbacks, but then so does an actual, but really beat up GA book.  One thing for sure, tho:  PS Artbooks could stand to do some better clean up and restoration for $17.00 per issue!

I would think that a huge amount of material could be produced “print to order” with the right deal negotiated.   Would I spend $30–$50 per month on facsimile? I’m way over that now.

Marketing is key with whatever could be produced.  I get the feeling that we’re quite the older group.  I don’t know how much of an overall target market we are for print.  Is there anyway to get product to retailers?

I don’t know, just thinking out loud.  One thing for sure tho.  Any reprint I buy has to be a legit facsimile. A comic facsimile is a reissue of something that carries historical, contextual weight.

As I said, thinking out loud
