Very little is known about the writer, Eddie Brooker, and that is from artist Peter Chapman in interviews. Brooker was a French-born writer who moved to Australia and wrote for newspapers as well as comics. He wrote his stories and dialogue in French, having them translated to English. This meant there were a greater number of words and this 'killed the stories'. This, in turn, lead to publishers being unwilling to continue using him. Virgil Reilly took over writing the Invisible Avenger by issue 6, after which Peter Chapman came on board as both writer and artist.
