In the text, Mansfield writes that Boleslaw was a Hungarian king. This information is incorrect. He was actually a Bohemian king.
Polish kings and dukes did indeed marry Hungarian princesses - but only later. Boleslaw V (1226-1279) married St. Kinga. Boles?aw the Pious (~1224 – 1279) married Blessed Jolan . Who were indeed daughters of Bela, IV. - a Hungarian king. :)
Mansfield could have mixed up the different Boleslaws, or his sources were simply wrong...
I wonder if Mansfield ever continued to present Central and Eastern European history or if his attempts were interrupted here?
It would be interesting to see from today's perspective what they knew about Europe back then...
