Would it be possible to drop all references to 'donators', and instead talk about donors, who are people that make donations?

Ugh! I think that's too much like organs - kidney and such.
I'd vote no for that image. Anyway, my dictionary at hand is the Webster's New World circa 1964 and lists donator as a noun for someone who has given or contributed to a cause. It may be an old word & not used as much, but I see no need to throw it away.
