Don Camillo and Giovannino Guareschi
« on: August 07, 2012, 06:45:24 PM »

We were having a discussion about Don Camillo and his creator Giovannino Guareschi in the admin bit of the site.

I am a big fan of the stories, but it drew rather a blank. I just wondered if anyone on the main forum has read them. If not they are thoroughly recommended.

They are very short stories, just a handful of pages each .... that have been taken to the screen but it just doesn't work IMHO

This will help and it explains the tv adaptations.  I didn't know Brian Blessed was in it, probably shouting his way through each episode.  And Fernandel in the Italian version.  I'll try to find extracts on youtube.  I'm intrigued.
