Crackajack Funnies - Owl stories?
« on: May 28, 2008, 05:07:04 PM »

I have a scan of Crackajack Funnies #28 with only the cover and the 6 page Owl story. I noticed that the Dell section says not to upload any, but I have seen a couple requests for an Owl story. I know he is one of the PD characters being used in Project Superpowers, which is why I was interested and first sought out the scan. This was the only one I could find anywhere.

Would this be an acceptable upload?

Cheers,
DBP

It would as the series is PD, unfortunately you would have to use the ftp to upload it if you want the details let me know via PM. l believe there is a 68pg scan with a damaged cover, but l have not checked it out yet so you could always upload yours if it is the original and not a reprint.

Now there is a 6pg scan of Crackajack Funnies 29 floating around, which is the Owl story and front cover, are you sure yours is #28?

According to this http://comics.org/details.lasso?id=1042 it should be 28. The story is The Murder of Whitney Morgan where Belle discovering the Owl's secret identity.

I already have ftp details you previously provided for another upload. You didn't use the first one, but Ken Shannon #6 did get posted. (BTW, I just noticed that wasn't reflected on my User CP page)

Thanks much!

l have no idea why it would not appear in your user CP, the name used for the uploader does not seem any different to your forum username. l did forget to change your status to VIP, sorry about that l did not move the Ken Shannon.

Yes it was 28, l had actually not realised the comic was newspaper strip reprints, l think it will be OK anyway, none seem to be owned by King features. Later l will check through strips in the series to make sure they are actually all PD.

Strange, unfortunately programming and scripts are not something l know anything about, but l will see what l can learn, we are likely to be without technical support for some time Serj has other problems to worry about at the moment.
