April 8, is now slowly spreading throughout the globe and it is a big day for us. Ok, so it is traditional to have just one birthday a year, well unless you are Queen Elizabeth II who somehow manages two. As we at Comic Book Plus consider ourselves royalty, then it has to be two for us as well! Today is the first anniversary since GoldenAgeComics.co.uk was given a makeover and relaunched as Comic Book Plus.

Yes, it is only one year. It seems much longer, but blimey it has been an unbelievable first year. We have doubled the amount of books we hold, added non-english and pulps, put our titles into categories, and a whole lot more. Just too many changes to list them all here. But, I would like to give MASSIVE heartfelt thanks to the admins, regular contributors to the forum and the mad nutters who are scanning and uploading so fast that sparks are often seen flying from our servers.

So now for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! As reward for all the hard work, we have made a present to be shared by everyone, and it is really cool!! PS: BTW our other birthday is July 24, when it will have been 7 years since GoldenAgeComics.co.uk first hit cyberspace. So we'll have to think of another great present to celebrate that

The news stand is really cool. Perhaps user birthdays could appear as news.

I like the newsstand feature--it'll be interesting to see how it develops. Mike's Amazing World has a similar feature, but it doesn't include everything else that was going on at the time--and Mike is forever tweaking the features on his site, which is good in theory, but every time a new feature is added usually the old reliable features don't work--such is the nature of the interwebs.

The mention of Queen Elizabeth's birthday(s) which is coming up--AND the accompanying image--had me thinking the pic was related to our queen's birthday. An image from her youth? I don't recall Elizabeth posing for such cheesecake shots--but the idea of it is quite amusing. I imagine the gentleman in the yellow jacket is meant to be Phillip Mountabatten. But the dark-haired fellow must be a bit of rough she encountered while on holiday.
