Also going up right now are partial scans of Heroic Comics #1, 2, 3, and 5. 1-3 have Everett's Hydroman and Tarpe Mills' Mann of India and Purple Zombie. 5 is just Hydroman. More (partial) early Heroics to come later tonight!

OK, one last one tonight, and it's one that I scanned, Rural Home's Blazing Comics #4! I love this company's books!!!

This finishes CD #12, just 7 more and a DVD (I think), then I can start scanning and taking requests!

Super big thanks and Karma for Blazing Comics #4 I love the Green Turtle.  Speeding down the road while standing in the back of a convertible his cape manages to stand straight up.  Who cared about physics when it looked cooler that way!  If from comics or CD's you have issue #1 PLEASE post it!  We can complete the series as 5 and 6 are remaindered whatever books.
I would also like to know where your art ID's came from.  They correspond to what is in the GCD except the Tommy P credit to Nina Albright is not in the GCD.  I would like to add the credit to the GCD and give credit to the person giving the ID if you can let me know.  thanks JIM

The Tommy Paige ID is my own, as is the Chu Hing inker ID on Red Hawk. Whenever I post a book, I always make at least a best guess attempt at art identification using my own spotting skills, Who's Who, and the GCD. The GCD isn't always accurate, but it can it least give me a hint to either confirm or deny. It was spot on in this case. I'm 100% positive in the Albright, Battefield, and Hing IDs. I can spot those three, especially Albright and Battefield, a mile off.

Oh, and I'm afraid I don't have #1. I sure wish I did though, because like I said, I LOVE this company's books!!!

They are probably my second favorite after Centaur and pretty close.  The oddball stuff is GREAT!  If you do not mind I will give you art ID credit on the GCD.  PLEASE anytime you have an ID or especially if you find a mistake on the GCD let me know so I can fix it as I am an editor there.  Would you agree that the same person must have lettered the whole issue and do you have any idea who there letterer was?  I would have guessed Hing because the lettering fits the Green Turtle so well but that is not much to go by.

By all means, feel free to use any credit I give. That's why I do them. I agree, it's all the same letterer, but I can't be certain who it is. Two possible names are Ellen Cole (wife of L.B. Cole) and M. Tweed. Ellen Cole also did lettering for Holyoke in 44-45, and it seems like I've seen this lettering before (but that could also be simply because I've looked at the book so much over the years), so I kind of lean toward her. Whoever it is has a very distinct and unusual "S."

Thanks you have been given credit there.  It would be nice if some lettering records were found.  Colorist probably never will be as much of that was done by shop and piecemeal.  It was the distinctive S and the very frequent slant that shouted same letterer to me also.  If we could get one confirmed somewhere the rest would be easy.  Is Ellen Cole still alive?

Fawcett's Gabby Hayes Western #34 and 40 are up now. Scans by Oldwayne.

I have no Idea if Ellen Cole is still around. L.B. died in 1995 and was born in 1918. One assumes that she would have been fairly close in age, probably a couple years younger, so it's possible.

Green Mask V2#2
I really think the Rick Evans story is LB Cole.  Each panel looks like a Cole cover.  I am often FAR off what do you think?

I think I can see where you're coming from on that, with the fine hatching, but it looks far too simplistic and rigid for Cole. His interior work was just as lush as his covers. Rick Evans is not. Besides, he's not listed as having ever done any work for Fox.

Great work Eric!
I'm working on getting them up on the site right now.
The Daring Love 001 though we already had in the unsorted section.  But thanks for thinking of us.  It's got quite a 'naughty' cover!   :D
The Blazing 4 I'm especially thankful for!

I thought it looked simplistic also but looked at his work on Boomarang in Terrific and could see some resemblance.  Could it be the inker?  I noticed he did not have anything listed at Fox but could it have come through his studio?

Here they come! Here they come!
There's the trumpets, there's the drums, here they come!
Hopalong Cassidys, here they come!

Some more Oldwayne westerns for y'all! Hopalong Cassidy #59, 61, and 62!

There they go, on their way,
Down the trail the cowboy way.
Hopalong Cassidys, Hopalong Cassidys.

They'll return, soon again (if I have any new late-40s Master Comics scans),
There's no use to say goodbye until then.
Hopalong Cassidys, so long Hopalong!
