Popular Comics #27?
« on: July 30, 2008, 02:02:56 PM »

Any problems with Popular Comics? Any strips that need to be taken out prior to posting?

Note to self (in case this takes a while and I need to find it again): This book is on CD #15.

Speaking of Popular Comics many moons ago I did a cover to cover scan of issues # 66.

Sadly I seem to have lost my scans of this book over the years although I still have the hardcopy issue.

So maybe if anyone has this lurking on their HD they could save me a scanning job by 'uploading' it to the site.

Their was also a very good 'Professor Supermind and Son' archives put together last April which IMO deserves a home here.

I agree with the Supermind Archive being here.  I do not download Popular because most of it I do not care about but love Supermind

Perhaps a PM to Aussie on the subject would clear this up.
I've no clue on their status on the site.

Just from looking at the cover of #27 on the GCD, i would guess that very little would be acceptable here, since at that point, Popular was still primarily reprinting comic strips.  Most of the licensed Dell titles have already been declared (rightfully) off-limits already, and I would guess that these early reprint issues would be the same.  The later issues, like #66, seem to have moved to new material, not reprinted, including the Professor Supermind and Son material.  if that material was not renewed, it would be PD.

but I agree, we need to wait on one of the mods on this one to be sure.
