Speed Comics (Harvey)
« on: August 25, 2008, 07:50:28 PM »

Hi, looking for Speed Comics issues, especially those with Shock Gibson. I'd prefer decent quality scans rather than fiches since I'm using them for an art project. Any possibility?

I have a coverless but otherwise complete paper copy of Speed Comics_041 which is very near the top of my 'to scan' pile so that should be showing up here sometime in September all being well.

Thanks, looking forward to seeing it.

I would REALLY love to get my hands on the early Speed issues when the art was more primitive... I find that more interesting.

Shock (or at least early Shock episodes) also didn't seem to understand the power of the thought balloon, so he often stated the obvious aloud when there was no one around. He also is the king of the understatement.

As someone who lives in Los Angeles, this panel cracked me up. Hard to choose which is more hilariously on the nose -- this one, or the panel with Shock facing the giant spider.

Again, I love Speed Comics and Shock Gibson.
