If a cover is found for what is listed as coverless on the download site can a mod place the cover into the book's file?

Nope.   :'(
The best a mod can do is upload the cover separately and add it into the same section.

BUT

If a member here with a better cover wanted they could download the existing incomplete file, add the missing cover, and then upload the now improved file to the FTP.  Then I could remove the old incomplete file and add the new file to the site.

Once a file has been added to the site proper from the FTP the mods cannot change anything about them other than to delete them.   :-\  While they are on the FTP I can and often have to rename them to match the file names of the other files of the same title on the site.  But that's all that I can do.

Hope that helps,

Yep, that'll do it.

I suppose if you really wanted to, you could download, change, delete, and re-upload.  But the separate cover isn't exactly painful for anybody.

(It's late and I decided to websurf.  This'll end well...)

These files are easy enough to edit.  Change the extension back to zip or rar and open them to single pics then do as you please.  I welcome anyone to take any of my scans and edit them to improve them. I have often uploaded uncropped images to save time.  Anyone who wants to open and crop and upload under their name is OK with me.  Would appreciate if my NARFSTAR was left on wherever stuck.  I have begun to try and be creative or out of the way placement with NARFSTAR.

Just downloaded Captain Flight #10 Ajax Pub. and opened using TUGZip archiver which let me add the cover to the scans and then used TUGZip again to zip the file.

Looked ok so I renamed the .zip to .cbz and uploaded to the FTP but I see it came out listed as a zipRAR so I dunno. freakin' greenhorns anyhoo. I think I messed up in the renaming to .cbz if I correctly recall someone saying something a few weeks back about that. More to it than just renaming it seems.

But it's up there so see what Yoc says when he gets it. The original scan name 'Captian' needed to be changed to Captain also so maybe he can fix the other one.

Cheers

Hi Rez,
Your new file opens fine for me.

Small suggestion that many here could follow:
When creating a file to be uploaded you can save a little space be deleting the 'thumbnails.db' file from the collection.  It's a useless windows file that just takes up room.  There's no harm in it being there but non in removing it either.

The new, cover added Capt. Flight book will be up shortly,
