While I'm grateful for the efforts of 'paw broom', it's a pity about these posts. They show three of the covers of the six issues produced by the Amalgamated Press in London for sale in Australia between 1949 and 1950, but not in order, and they don't show the original contents of each issue. What we get instead is the selecton of those strips which were reprinted in "Knockout" annuals in the late '50s and early '60s. It would be nice if someone could post all the Australian AP titles. I'd especially like to see "Captain Flame" (Aug 1949), with Eric R Parker's version of the pirate-hunter. Is there nobody from the Land of Oz with copies to post ? (Anyone curious about these comics should consult "The Thriller Libraries" by David Ashford & Steve Holland, London 2010)

Yes, well, mortimer, we'd probably all love to have the same contents and issues that you would like but, and it's a big but, we don't have them.  That's why I gathered together what stories I could find - and I'm good at that - searched for some things that could be used as cover illos, put together what I had and posted them. :D
Do you have the material you mention?  If so, we'd love to have it on site.  If you don't have it, then we're in the same boat.  Until we source complete copies of those publications, most of us will make do with what we have.  There is a section of the site where we host compilations - the title speaks for itself - and often, compilations will have strips from disparate sources wrapped up in a cover from somewhere else.  So it is with some of my contributions, TJ and Ace Hart being examples.
Sorry if this isn't the reply you want.  If you reply to this, please don't just re-post your comments as you did with Dick Turpin.  It's important that we all work together to gather source material in order to preserve it. ;)
