Thanks modanim.
Just so I know what to label them could you tell me which issues are covered in the BBB and Black Dwarfs?  Same as your list above or did you remove the duplicates?

Yep, Dell books are a minefield of complications!  (*sigh*)

Narf, we share an enthusiasm for Black Dwarf artist Paul Gattuso. He had a career as a fine artist (before/after/during?) his comic book career:

http://www.askart.com/AskART/artists/search/Search_Repeat.aspx?searchtype=IMAGES&artist=108697

I understand he continued doing comic work through the '50s. (Horror? Crime? Romance?) Anyone know specific issues?

Yoc: The image files for BBB & BD should be labelled with the issue # they came from.

Hi Mod,
Right, I figured that out, added the one missing BBB story and just added it to the site.
Fingers crossed the last ones show up.

I'll be doing the same for BD when I get home later tonight.

Thanks again!

I wish I could place a comic that I came across awhile back. I thought wow that art looks familiar. I realized it looked like a Black Dwarf. Now that I know it was Paul G I wish I could find that comic to give an art ID.

Modamin,

I've uploaded into your section of the FTP what I'm pretty sure are the inside front cover, the last page (an ad), the ibc, and back cover.  They are taken from the July issue of Doll Man.  I know the ifc is correct as I can see through a cover posted on Heritage.  I recreated the indicia using that from Plas #22 changing the # and date and year copyrighted.  If you actually have a paper copy available, could you verify that these are the correct ads?

If those are correct, then I think the one missing page must be the text story and I'd love to see a scan of it.  :-)

Jim Tyer
« Reply #44 on: November 28, 2008, 02:49:35 AM »

Jim Tyer was the most purely "cartooney" animator at Terrytoons animation studio.  Well known for his exaggerated free-form style.  I've been collecting his stuff for many years.  The first installment of his collected PD stories uploaded today.  Mostly for AGG/Nedor, etc. He worked for the East Coast office of the Sangor comic shop, also doing some work for Fawcett's Funny Animals and others through the '40s.

He also did a lot of work for St John Terrytoons comics, but I don't know if those are PD?

Best to avoid Terrytoons M, but many thanks for the others!
Check soon for them on the site.

Ah, this is a tricky problem M.
While it's lovely to have a file with only Tyler stories I'm not really sure exactly WHERE to put it on the site if it contains both Nedor and ACG stories.

Any suggestions?

----

Just downloaded the file to take a look and see it's got several odd files at the start with names like:
"._BumpyBruin2.jpg"

There's one for every file 'good' file in the .rar file so I'm guessing they are temp files or something.  CDisplay is choking on them.

Any chance of removing them and reuploading this if you want to keep the collection as is?

Ah, yes - I see - it's artifacts from the old Mac. Sorry about that!
Cleaned it up!  Part 2 also

I guess you could put it under "unsorted"?

By the way, the artist's name is "Tyer" not "Tyler"
