If you ever wanted proof of Joe Kubert's influence on Steve Ditko, you need only to check the boy on the cover of this issue. A great cover, by the way.

Terrific cover from Ditko – with hints of the Dr Strange to come! The story of the Forbidden Room is great too – beginning apparently as a Picture of Dorian Gray rip-off, it accelerates with three delicious twists near the end.
Valley in the Mist has a hero called Sock – it reminded me I always take a spare sock with me when I play golf in case I get a hole in one.
Nice noirish art from Bill Molno in Voices in the Dark, a story that makes you wonder if ghosts may be the remnants of personalities from a parallel world reaching out to contact us.
The last story has an alien analysing whether we are a peaceful or warlike species – he draws the wrong conclusion after a thirty year investigation - doesn’t say much for the status of xenoanthropology on his home planet.
