MARGA the Panther Woman is definitely the best thing in those early Science Comics and Weird Comics. She's so much more interesting than just a simple Sheena knockoff, and she probably doesn't deserve to be dismissed as merely another derivative 'jungle girl'. The artwork in these early stories at least, was consistently the best to appear in Science Comics. Since this was still a couple of years before Val Lewton's film CAT PEOPLE (starring the beautiful Simone Simon), it was more likely inspired by the character Lota (Kathleen Burke) from Paramount Pictures' 1932 ISLAND OF LOST SOULS. Posters promoting the film played up the Lota character big-time as "The Panther Woman" in large lettering. I'm surprised that no one at Fox Features remembered MARGA a decade later, when Fox was having great success publishing RULAH Jungle Goddess (in ZOOT, her own comic book and ALL-TOP Comics), plus ZEGRA Jungle Empress, Tanee (in JO-JO Congo King), and Tangi -- and could easily have brought Marga back in her own comic book (or at least a backup feature) at that time.

The Marga series is mixed-up even by Fox standards. It reboots itself every couple of episodes, seemingly whenever a new writer took over. In this it's similar to "The Sorceress of Zoom" (though the Sorceress sometimes changed appearance and personality from one episode to the next).
