From what I can tell, Alan Yates is the same Alan Yates who wrote detective stories under the name Carter Brown.

Writers out there may be interested in this. Don't know for sure if it is genuine. Curious that the list of nations where the winner will be published does not include the UK. https://www.carterbrownonline.com/ Can't help but feel it sounds dubious.
