This has made my day. The art is straight-forward and simple, exactly as it should be. But the writing and the gags! Wonderful! 'my names Oiniy Fer' 'Oiniy fer? How do you spell it?' Just like it's pronounced,' E-R-N-I-E F-O-Y' I'm from Brooklyn.' And it just gets better from there. Haven't managed to unearth much information on the strip or the artist tho.

I recognized all the characters in the house ad except for "The Ghost Avenger." Anyone know who that is?

Draftie was a US newpaper comic strip syndicated by John F. Dille Co. Draftie ran from Jan 1941 to May 1946. Late in 1944 the title changed to Lem and Ernie. The artist for the entire run was Bill Juhre. Juhre later did the newspaper strip The Orbits.

here's a link to "The Ghost Avenger." although it's the character but a different book (i don't suggest purchase since it's missing first 15 pages of story and likely other stuff) 'The Better Little Book Ghost Avenger' illustrated by Henry E. Vallely. source hxxps://www.rubylane.com/item/1855696-PM-CB-G1-0100/1945-Great-Golden-Age-x27The-B etter
