Danny returns to Laura but is shot down by his former associates. As he dies, he says "I guess I wasn't such a big shot after all!" |

Lil agrees to break up with him but Dale is fired anyway. Lil is called to testify in court; Jean repents at the last minute and confesses all. Jean decides to change her life and become a nurse. |

Sheila and Don fall in love and she "admits" he's right about the contract. Sheila is prepared to give up her career and marry Don, but her partner Steve arrives. Steve says Sheila is being selfish: "that's not love! That's narrow, suspicious possession!" Sheila changes her mind and Don becomes a star. Sheila thinks Don'll hate her for deceiving him, but he still loves her. |
