Once the world was full of "B movie" cowboys stars. Here is a great selection of names slowly fading in public memory,
John Wayne excepted.
One of the most successful was Gene Autry, a singing cowboy.
An astute businessman, Autry owned a television station, radio stations
and a Major League Baseball team. The only person to have five stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
for film, television, music, radio, and live performance. He was also the owner of Champion!
One of the biggest comic book draws was Lash Larue. Famed for his skill with the bull whip.
he would later teach Harrison Ford how to use it in Indiana Jones.
Other names are Gabby Hayes, never the star, but the sidekick to them all
and Allan 'Rocky' Lane who appeared in more than 125 films and TV shows, ending
his career as the voice of Mister Ed, the talking horse.
We have 50 titles and 1,191 issues in our 'Western Stars Category' for you to enjoy.
