A magical way to start this section is with Harry
Blackstone, once a very popular magician and illusionist. Thomas Edison designed the light bulb for his Floating Light Bulb illusion. Blackstone's friend, Walter B. Gibson was the ghostwriter on books carrying his name.
He also helped create the radio and comic book series Blackstone, the Magic Detective.
Film Fun published in Britain from 1920, until 1962,
totalled 2225 issues. The long-time editor was Frederick George Cordwell, known to readers as
Eddie the Happy Editor. He wrote many of the stories, often appearing with
the on-page stars, including the legendary Laurel and Hardy.
Other comic acts who made it into the comic book realm are Abbott and Costello and the Three Stooges. Both of who have appeared in a variety of different publishers titles.
Fawcett's Motion Picture Comics is one of the titles that
highlighted recent film releases. A good example is The Man from Planet X, a low-budget science fiction film
of 1951. At which point we'll leave you to enjoy the comics beneath.
We have 94 titles and 1,815 issues in our 'Media / Stars Category' for you to enjoy.
