Astounding Stories began publishing in Jan 1930 as Astounding Stories of Super Science by Clayton Magazines, then subsequently by Street & Smith Publications. Names in later years included Astounding Stories and Astounding Science Fiction. The magazine was renamed Analog in 1960, and is still published under that name by Dell Magazines.
Rocket Man made his first appearance in Scoop Comics #01 (Nov 1941) published by Harry 'A' Chesler). The character appeared twice more in Scoop Comics, issues #02 and #03. He also appeared in Punch Comics, issues 09 - 21 and single appearances in Red Seal Comics #22 (Dec 1947) and Hello Pal Comics #01 (Jan 1943).
Inventor Cal Martin creates a rocket pack that allows him to jet through the air. He builds one for himself and his girlfriend Doris Dalton. Together they fight crime and the Germans as Rocket Man and Rocketgirl in matching costumes.
In Punch Comics, Cal's job was that of a lawyer.
British story papers featured illustrated prose S.F. serials with weekly 3, 4, or 5 page episodes (occasionally fortnightly), from early '30's till they ceased publication.
These featured alien invasions of Earth, space ships, adventures on other worlds, monsters and apocalyptic disasters. All great fun with intrepid heroes and the odd mad scientist.

The Space Rangers first appeared in Planet Comics #26 (Sept 1943) published by Fiction House.
Due to wartime paper shortages, the page count on Planet Comics was reduced. Fiction House rather than drop any of their regular characters, decided to combine two of their most popular, Flint Baker (Issues 01-25) and Reef Ryan (Issues 13-25) to become 'The Space Rangers'.
