It must have been very easy to discover Christopher Columbus in the crowded courts of Spain, for he had snow-white hair at the age of 30. There was certainly nothing strange about dueling in the 18th century, but one Colonel Acland of Selworthy, England, seemed to carry things a bit far. Acland fought eight duels without an injury, but was warned by a soothsayer that his ninth duel would result in his death. Colonel Acland fought another duel on November 8, 1778, and escaped once more without a scratch, but caught such a severe cold, he died four days later. Believe It or Not!
