| Synopsis | A grand larceny case in the resort city I was visiting had narrowed to several men who worked on a construction job downtown. The boss of the group pointed them out as they worked. One was nailing two by fours. Another, halfway up a steel chimney, had completed the bottom half of a paint job. The third man was coiling rope with his left hand holding the rope. I think I've spotted the guilty man, I told the foreman. I'll explain who was guilty. In the case of the amateur suspect, the second man painting the steel chimney from the bottom up was obviously posing as a painter. experienced painters always work from the top down. | ||||
