In almost the time since this thread was started, It's got even more complicated.
First,
Gods and Mythology:- Of course we have
Thor, Loki, Baldar, long list sister - really lost - from another comic universe - Angela, Tyr God of War, - I quit ! full list here. How Many Siblings Does Thor Have? | Earth?s Mightiest Showhttps://www.marvel.com/watch/digital-series/earth-s-mightiest-show/just-how-many-siblings-does-thor-have-earth-s-mightiest-showDrifting over to Christian theology, there is also Marvel's Son of Satan (who I guess is now called Hellstorm) and presumably his sister, Satana
Well first lets be accurate and say,
Judaeo-Christian mythology.
Back in the Golden Age, and on CB+ we had
Sampson for one.
But really that's a whole other thread. Both Marvel and DC have quite extensive and complex demonic family trees and DC even had an angel in the JLA at one time.
So lets not go there.
But now! Siblings are bursting out all over!
Morrison started something with his turning The Xavier Academy into something resembling a real school.
We now have '
Strange Academy' - probably my favourite big two book at the moment.
Dr Strange founds a magic academy with all the Marvel magic dudes as Teachers, and students who act like real teenagers. They include:-
The son of Dormammu, A teenage Frost Giant and it's just been revealed, the son of the Enchantress. This book has delightful things like - [Spoiler] latest issue - School Away trip - to Asgard - Splash page:- Yellow school bus on the rainbow bridge with excited kids hanging out the windows.Loved it.
Then there is DC's
Titan Academy, with the original Teen Titans as teachers. This one is not quite so good.
But wait, there's more.
Marvel has just released '
Red Widow' Yes, you guessed it, we now have a teenage survivor of the Red Room making her own way in the US.
We haven't mentioned of course that
Spiderman now has a [of course long-lost] sister. I think. Getting a headache.
DC, if you have missed it, has now decided that there are an infinite number of alternate universes and to hell with it, lets play with them all.
So now you pick up a DC book and you haven't got a clue how it fits into continuity, if at all.
Batman, I think, now has another son, and we haven't mentioned
Black Lightning's daughters and
Red Tornado's Granddaughter. And then there is the Ray, son of - or is it Grandson? of the Ray.
There are more, but I think I will lie down now.
No, since you don't have a headache, I think I will give you one. The Summers family tree is even more complicated that I thought.
https://www.marvel.com/watch/digital-series/earth-s-mightiest-show/scott-summers-mutant-family-treeAnd now? They all live together as one incestuous? Happy family on the moon. With Wolverine as House Guest. No, I'm not joking.
Cheers!
