Hi DM,
Just catching up on your uploads and found -
STARTLING COMICS #13 has duplicates pages on pg33+35

The download also said it was a broken archive here too so a fix for the page would correct that as well.

Thanks,
-Yoc

I'll see about that ASAP.  In the meantime, I've uploaded 3 improved (hopefully) issues of IBIS to the FTP.  Thanks.

edit:  The corrected STARTLING COMICS is also on the FTP.  Thanks again.

Since I don't like looking at those crummy scans any more than you do, I've instituted the Fawcett Cleanup Project and started work on some of my earlier efforts.  So far I've uploaded CAPTAIN MARVEL, JR. #1 and 2 to the FTP and I'm upping CMA #25 right now.  Let me know if you like them.

"Young lady???"
Hmmm, maybe we should be looking at 'Nigel' differently?

;)

Thanks DM, I'll get those up asap.

Upped a cleaned-up CAPTAIN MARVEL, JR #3 to the FTP.  Not perfect, but it looks a lot better.  And wait till you see Captain Nippon chewing up railroad tracks.

Now on the FTP:  the cleaned-up version of CAPTAIN MARVEL, JR. #4.  This one features the origin of Sabbac (who was to CMJ what Ibac was to Captain Marvel), another outing with Captain Nippon (though Captain Nazi slouches off this time), and, wonder of wonders, Cap Jr.'s first battle with DR. SIVANA!  Plus a cameo by Beautia Sivana.  All fiche, all yours, and all readable.  Enjoy.

The latest on the FTP:  a cleaned up SPY SMASHER #1, from 1941.  All fiche, all yours.  Not perfect, but a lot better.  Enjoy.

Now we've got the first couple of issues of WHIZ COMICS and CAPTAIN MARVEL, JR. #10 on the FTP.  The last of these features Cap, Jr. vs. Hitler and Sivana, with a cameo by Cap, Sr.  All fiche, all yours.  Enjoy.

By the time this gets to you, we should have CAPTAIN MARVEL, JR. #11 on the FTP.  Contains at least one Mac Raboy story, another appearance by Adolf H., and the return of Captain Nazi after some r & r.  All fiche, all yours.  Enjoy.

And now CAPTAIN MARVEL, JR. #12.  Featuring the Japanese, Sivana, Captain Nazi, and a zombie.  You just can't go wrong with that lineup.  All fiche, all yours.  Enjoy.

Am curious as to which of the CMJ stories you're attributing to Raboy, DM. None of them looks like him to me. Am I missing something?

I'd have to look to see, but the cutline "Drawn by Mac Raboy" under one of the stories seems a good indication.

The cutline is, indeed, there, DM, but nothing other than the CMJ figures looks much like his fine, polished, nicely executed work. Raboy was known for cutting and pasting his earlier efforts into new jobs, but this appears to have been finished off by various (much lesser) hands. Of course, it's VERY difficult to challenge a signature, but a credit applied to the work by the editor has less weight. Compare the non-CMJ figures with earlier, definitive Raboy work and apply a critical eye to it. Would an artist as competent as Raboy do work like that?

I would dearly like you to explain, DM
what was NOT "friendly" about my comment. It certainly wasn't meant in any other fashion. It seemed to me to be an observation and an opinion and a request for a further review of the art, NONE of which casts any negative light on you as far as I can tell (or intended). Where's the beef?

Peace, Jim (|:{>

OK, we have another four issues of improved CM JR. (ending with #50) on the FTP, one of which is a slightly added-to Henry Peters scan which is now c2c.  Also, I've done a fiche scan of MYSTERY MEN COMICS #22, and upped slimmed-down versions of WHIZ #3 and 4.  Mostly fiche, all yours.  Enjoy.

Thanks DM.
I'll get them up shortly.

---

If another set of eyes helps on the matter of Raboy I looked at the issue in question and I'm going to have to go with Jim on this one. It sort of looks like Raboy but it isn't 'classic' Raboy.

Still nice to see these books going up and holes being filled!

We all know about the 40's/50's Batman stories with 'Bob Kane' stamped on them although Mister Kane had NOTHING to do with most of them.
