I would really rather keep it as 4a for a couple of reasons, even if it was released between Animal 3 and 4.  One is that I think/ suspect that the reason there wasn't a Pogo story in Animal 4 is because it was used in Our Gang 6 instead.  Another is because, since there wasn't a Pogo story in Animal 4, calling the Our Gang 'Animal 4a' makes sure the Pogo continuity is correct and the story falls between 3 and 5 no matter what.  Calling 3a means there's a chance somebody not knowing the history on our files thinks the 3 comes after the 3a for some reason.

Right -- Sorry -- I forgot Animal #4 had no Pogo story -- it's teh only one I've not seen

And, it's up.  Not actually an issue of Animal, but still an important story for those of us who are collecting the Animal series.  Let me know if there's any problem with the "cover page" I added.

Was just reading the delightful Fairy Tale Parade 6 Jon posted for us.  I never would have recognized him if it hadn't been for other Kelly caricatures, but Glum in "The Legend of the Stars" is clearly based by Kelly on his friend and famous Disney animator Ward Kimball.  Just a neat touch that might otherwise be missed!

I took a look at FTP 6, Eric, as I don't own a copy. You're right: What a treat! I love those early Dells. Here's a real kicker - "The Wild Swans" is drawn by L. Bing, the same artist who drew The Green Mask story in Fox's Mystery Men #10, also recently uploaded. Beauty and the Beast is by the marvelous Arthur Jameson, who used to draw cartoons in the original old Life Magazine around the turn of the Twentieth Century. If you look at the last panel on the last page of The Frog  Queen, you'll see a "signature" of sorts: a couple of "broken" circles - a large one on a smaller one. This is an unknown artist (to Hames and me) that we call "the bubble artist". Does ANYONE have any ideas as to who it might be?

The GCD has NOT credits for ANY issues of FTP. Sigh....

Now uploading:

Fightin' Marines (St John) #11 completing series
The #11 currently on site is really Approved Comics #11
   which reprints Fightin' Marines #3
Lawbreakers (Charlton) #1
Rusty Boy Detective (Good/Gleason) #1
   I guess I'd put this with Comic House/Gleason thought I don't know
if it's the same company or not.

These are all JVJon-Mouse5150 scans

Well, they have some credits for issue 6 now... I just entered your and OtherErics ids.  see http://comics.org/details.lasso?id=277654 [it isn't done yet, so if anyone has any more ids, let me know].  Saku is by Walt Kelly, isn't it?  Did Walt Kelly letter his own stuff, it all looks like Pogo, so I assume he did...

I made a long post on the art in Fairy Tale Parade 6, then though better and moved it to it's own topic elsewhere.

Thanks Jon and Mouse.
Say, did JVJ not include his index cards for these?  There aren't any credits in the files.

My fault on index cards.  I do have it for Lawbreakers.  I scanned all the index cards first this time to be sure to include them -- see how well that worked.  I'm re-uploading Lawbreakers #1 with the index card included to the FTP.

There were no index cards for Rusty or Fightin' Marines.  In fact the only other index cards I have this time are for the various Dell war titles.  War Comics, War Stories, & War Heroes.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Jon.
I've moved everything out to 'Collecting Poor Condition Books...' in the Comics Talk section here:

Thanks Yoc.

Latest upload.

War Stories (Dell) #5 -- a JVJon-Dell4C scan.

For some reason the upload feature would not work for this, but FTP worked fine.

Thanks Jon.  The upload link doesn't like file names that are overly long, have an access of square brackets and especially hate apostrophes and other special characters.

You might experiment with a very small file using different name styles to get an idea of what is and isn't good.  I cover it in the FAQ as well.

Your book is now up.

Now Uploading more Dell war comics.  It might be a good idea to make a folder for War Heroes as all tne issues will be done once I finish the current JVJ scans.

Now going up:

War Heroes #1 2 4 10

4 and 10 are JVJon-Dell scans

1 and 2 Dell gave me, but I'm pretty sure are not his scans either.

Guess I wasn't clear.  I realize not all of these were on the JVJ list.  But in looking at the list and our files, I noticed these were not available and I FTPed all of them.

I see Tigger uploaded GI Joe v1 14 already.  Is there anything wrong with it?
I'll leave your book on the FTP until I hear from you.
