Greetings!
« on: July 21, 2009, 12:51:54 AM »

Hi,

Just popped in to say hello to everybody. Wonderful site here! I've been interested in pre-code horror comics some a long time; wish I had the money to collect the originals.  :( But, I'm satisfied with reprints and the information in reference books. I've listed some favorites below). Only recently, the last 2 months or so , I've started to collect scanned comics - never thought of it before. I get most of my comics from torrent sites like thepiratebay & demonoid & whatnot, but this site has the largest collection of comics I've seen so far. And they're free! A pity about the Atlas titles, they produced quite a number of great comic books, but, be thankful for what's available.  ;)

Bye for now.
Richard

Favorite comics reference books:

The Photo-Journal Guide to comics by Gerber
The Illustrated History of Comics series by Benton
Ghastly Horrors by Sennitt
Marvel Masterwork series

Welcome here Richard glad you found us. If you happen to pick up any GA public domain comics that we do not have please share them here with us. Gerber is great to look at and for some reference but the accuracy of their rating is not that great as the internet and ebay has shown. You did not mention Sterenko's History. If you do not have the two issues  it would be very worth your while to find them. You will be glad that you did. Enjoy the site and join in any convos.

Many thanks for the Steranko cite! I forgot to mention George Suarez & his 11 Tales to Terrible to Tell series. What ever happened to his Terrology book? Here's a list of my comics collection. If you need any, please let me know.

Regards

p.s. If interested, I also have a large collection of comic book covers.
