Deadpool: American Gangsterland
« on: February 12, 2020, 02:09:43 AM »

This is a fun Chicago city nod to my all-time favorite urban American crime-conquering demi-god, Deadpool (Marvel Comics). This will be another but most likely last Deadpool-yarn on Comic Book Plus.

====

My name is Wade Wilson. A terrible government accident left me half-charred and with a fist full of fury but also with a fast-healing cellular composition. So, I fashioned myself a vigilante costume and hit the streets of American cities with swords, sabers, and guns, taking down homegrown terrorists, crime-masters, and psychos so the U.S. government could spend more quality time tracking the real modern threat --- ISIS. I gave myself the name Deadpool, a moniker I picked up at my matron's mercenary bar on the West Coast.

I've taken down some major crews like the Black-and-Tan Demons in Chicago who were running black market munitions to an illegal Russian goon-squad trying to kill peaceful political Chechnyans (Russian dilemma!). I also took down Jigsaw, a disfigured lunatic who was killing Internet mail-order-brides, taking their jewelry and using it to win bigger money at the Kentucky Derby, convinced he was Christopher Walken from that James Bond movie featuring that slinky and gorgeous American Bond-girl (my favorite).

Therefore with some handsome laurels in my cap, I'm now seeking to expose a new gangster-and-gal named 'Father Frances' and 'Dark Angel' (a pair for a penchant for decapitating policemen in the Windy City of Chicago. Frances/Angel have built an ugly 'Gangsterland' around their 21st Century urban pit of anguish. Chicago hasn't seen this kind of anarchy since the eerie days of the Untcouchables. I'm certain now that Frances and Angel aim to turn Chicago into a den of werewolves.

DEADPOOL: You two are nifty!
FRANCES/ANGEL: Don't be so arrogant.
DEADPOOL: Why not?
FRANCES/ANGEL: We represent true evil!
DEADPOOL: Dick Butkus?
FRANCES/ANGEL: Look, we just want your skull.
DEADPOOL: I understand that tied up!
FRANCES/ANGEL: Do you expect to escape?

Well, as it turned out my good friends, I did manage to escape from the slimy clutches of Father Frances and Dark Angel! Yeah, they had me tied up hanging upside-down, but, in fact, I used a sleeping-gas hidden in my gloves to knock them out and then fled their lair with their precious $4 million diamonds. I ran to the Chicago Sun-Times (newspaper) and reported that the two 'Satans' of the 'Chicago Gangsterland' had been bamboozled and pilfered by yours truly, Wade Wilson (Deadpool). This was terrific. Father Frances and Dark Angel became a street-pun, so I distributed fridge-magnets with pictures of myself (Deadpool) stealing diamonds from Frances/Angel to kids all over Chicago.

DEADPOOL: "It's been my privilege and special honor to outwit and escape from the two dark overlords of Chicago Gangsterland and distribute humorous fridge-magnets with prints of myself nabbing their illegal diamonds to kids all over the fair and Windy City! Now, I intend to take a vacation to Hawaii and put up a fridge-magnet of the archangel Michael in my suite. Justice will always prevail over the Devil."

Great to see some fun fan fiction - perhaps there should be an area on CBR somewhere that fan fiction fanatics could use? I'm not sure how that would work but I would definitely contribute - would a separate thread do it?
