Golden Age Non-Funny Anthropomorphic Animal Comics

I'm looking for any Golden Age comics that show anthropomorphic animals in a non-humorous context, less Uncle Scrooge and more Island of Doctor Moreau. Stuff like animals becoming more human due to a mad scientist or showing them as the future dominant race of planet Earth.

If you can point me to any comics on this site like that, that would be fantastic. Copyrighted material can be included as well.

The only one that springs to mind would be The Last Enemy in Alarming Tales #1 by Jack Kirby.

These days you can find a lot of webcomics that feature serious furries, but comic books tend to be put out by smaller publishers.
