MY first response to this was, no, I can't think of any. But just now I was looking at DC's one=-off 6 issue Son of Vulcan series. Son of Vulcan was one of the the Charlton Heroes they did almost nothing with.
That's hardly surprising, since the original Charlton Character was the subject of some of the worst comics you have ever seen. They finally decided to update it, and the story is one of the more off-the-wall stories DC ever did. Actually its not bad, if they had continued with it, it might have been a good series. No spoilers - much - but it fitted into the DC Universe but at the same time it was somewhat farcical. BUT! the central character, the new Son of Vulcan, who is an Hispanic teenager, ends up with a sidekick who was an older Son of Vulcan, so much older that he is resident in a Nursing Home. Oh, and he has a high-tech rocket car and a female Robot/Cyborg. It always amazed me that apart from this 6 issue series, the character - to my knowledge - never appeared again in DC continuity. 'Written out', is an appropriate term.
But seek it out, its an enjoyable read.
Incidentally they had two attempts at Judomaster, the first was a young male who appeared in a one-off story and the second was a young female who appeared in JSA for a few issues.
But seek it out, its an enjoyable read.
Cheers!
