I posted last week about having trouble with downloads failing. It's happened several more times since then and every time it fails the full amount of the reported file size is deducted from my download limit. The problem only seems to occur when trying to download from this website, which is a real bummer because GAC has the best content on the web that I've ever found. I tried twice in a row to download Pep Comics no. 9 And both times it failed at exactly 264 kb. This seems like an odd coincidence. It can't be my computer or IP not being able to handle the size of the files because I have downloaded numerous files in excess of 50 mb (from other sites) without any problem. Is there any chance of getting back the lost bandwidth from these failed downloads so I can at least try again. About 2/3 of the files I've attempted to download have come through just fine.

I got broken archive on it. If someone has a good copy please upload a replacement. JakeL I have increased you bandwidth and files to make up for the bad ones

It seems it's not an isolated incident. I just tried downloading some "Unusual Tales" issues just up'd and they would stop after 1.8megs or shorter, (tried about three files before I gave up on it). I've never had this happen before. Sorry to be bring this up, but would hope it gets fixed soon before it get to be to big a problem.

Now the "Chamber of Chills" issues downloaded fine earlier. Weird

Could it be that I'm "seeing" these files and they are not approved for downloading quite yet? That would make some sense to me on it happening like this.

We are aware of this ... If I were a member, I would stop downloading for now in order to not waste download/bandwidths and wait for further updates, but if they do download to let us know if the downloads succeeded or failed in this thread.

I've been having what seems to be the same problem, altho sometimes instead of getting a completely unreadable "broken archive", when I try to download Fatman #1, I get the front cover, back cover, ToC & first (I imagine) splash page, but nothing else.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Some of this is related to the software (hence the coming upgrade) and also to those who perform simultaneous downloads with little consideration for the server or other members. I monitor traffic (some of you know this because you cannot download anymore -- send me a pm if you're prepared to cease the simultaneous downloads).

Additionally, good files also go bad -- in this case, Narfstar could re-up it if it's gone bad, but I just downloaded it, so I think its one of the other issues. 

I'll re-juice your download data and I do apologize for the problems with the site. Try to download the file again and please let us know what happens.

I tried again, and this time, I managed to get 2 more story pages along with what I had gotten before, but still far from a complete comic.  Apparently, I was only able to download 3.2 MB of the 26.36 MB file.  Still, at least that was some progress, right?

Just tried to download some mysteries of unexplored worlds from silver age sidestreet. nos 16 and 25 downloaded but didnt have any content!!!

Many of Jodyanimator's uploads have double extensions. You will need to make sure you allow showing file extensions then remove the .zip and they will work fine.

These are not bad files -- you merely lack the programs or know how (no offense intended or inferred) to open them.

What are you using to read the files that you download here?

If you are able to download the entirety of the file, use something like Filzip or TugZip or IZArc to open the files and extract the individual jpegs into a new folder, which you can then open using CDisplay.

I know this is a crazy solution, but in these cases it is as good as we can get without one of us having physical access to your pc to see what is going on.

I downloaded all of the Catman on the site, and multiple Silver Streaks, all but one failed yet it deducted my allocated usage-- is there some way to get more space in my account?  I'd love to get the comics I tried to download.
