I'm surprized no-one pointed out that due to poor placement of a word ballon in the last panel it looks like the woman being tottured is saying "Pull tighter, Igor!"

The villain's accent reminds me of an exchange in an Inferior Five comic in the 60's. The main villain, the Masked Swastika, kept gaining and losing his German accent. When one of the other villains pointed it out, he said something like "What a dumbkopf I am! I keep forgetting that we Nazi villains have to talk like the Katzenjammer Kids at all times. It's an unwritten law."

To be fair, Supergirl has always been a little...messed up. I'm particularly reminded of the issue where she decides that Superman needs to marry someone JUST LIKE HER...but not her. Because they're cousins. And that's bad. On Krypton, at least.

So she uses her super-telescope (not like that--ew!) and finds a superwoman who's JUST LIKE HER, only grown up. And then sends Superman out there. While she stays behind.

This is the somehow-"classic" Luma Lynai story.

Creepy possibility #1: It's actually her future self and she's scamming the Man of Steel into let's say marrying her despite the cousin taboo.

Creepy possibility #2: "You go get it on with the foreign chick while I stay behind with the telescope" sounds like a subplot in a cheesy fraternity movie.

Personally, I still think this sort of thing pales in comparison to Archie's prostitution ring in Pep #30. I'll grant you that the story unfolds as if he's running a legitiimate escort service, but given that his premise is that Betty gets so many dates and should farm them out to other girls, and somehow that makes him money, certainly fills in the blanks.

Clearly, Betty's slacks are a corrupting influence on the town. Or maybe Archie's just a punk--who really knows why he was speeding, after all...?

The disturbing part is your noticing it in context of the comic. Showing just that panel makes it impossible not to think kink

I've learned the source for yellow rain was Action Comics 337, May 1966.
I wasn't born yet but I've heard they were pretty 'wild' back then.

In 1966 I was only 9 and looking up girls dresses was the wildest I knew of. If I had read that issue of Action nothing would have come to mind.

In 1966 I was 17 and the phrase would have meant nothing to me and I don't think it would have meant anything to me until the advent of the internet where you can find out about many many things.

Believe it I have often thought about how lucky bouncing boy is to be able to have a manag-a-toi all with just his own wife. Invisible Kid could spend all his time lurking unseen in the ladies locker room while Dream Girl was there if she did not already know he would be there and ruin it for him. And does anyone have a problem figuring out why all the girls would want a night with Elastic Lad?

Issue 76. I bought a lot off ebay that included a copy that I did not need because already had one. Put it back on ebay and it sold for more than I paid for the whole lot.

I had to smile reading Narf's remark, In 1966 I was only a year older then he was and living in London at that time ( the hight of the mini-skirt I might add) I used to travel everywhere on those famous Red double decker buses.

More often the not there would always be a half hour wait and if I was at the front of the queue I would check out how many 'Dolly Birds' waiting behind me were smokers.

You see back in those days smoking was still permited but only on the UPPER DECK.

So when the Bus finally arrived I would always be the perfect Gentleman and let these young ladies go upstairs ahead of me.

Even at ten years old I was no fool
