As a cartoon nut and Furry I mostly am into the Funny Animal the most.

My other hobbies are mainly Civil War/Western history, old cartoons and movies.

Nice to see another Funny Animal fan here!  We are few and far between here, as compared to Superhero and other human figure action-based series fans.  We have a lot of relatively obscure Public Domain Golden Age funny animal series on this website, which usually provide a lot of enjoyable reading and comic art viewing as  "eye candy" even for veteran readers of that genre.  Unfortunately for such fans, virtually all of the Golden and Silver Age animated cartoon film-based characters' series are still under copyright ownership, and so, NOT in The Public Domain, and so, cannot be uploaded onto this and other websites and not be available to the general public. 

However, a lot of good Funny Animal comic book art, drawn by moonlighting animators IS displayed here in our PD series, such as the Sangor Studios series published by American Comics Group (ACG), (Giggle, Ha Ha, Hi-Jinx, Funny Films, Merry-Go-Round, Laffy-Daffy, and America's Funniest Comics), and Nedor/Standard Comics' (Coo Coo, Goofy, Barnyard, Happy, Funny Funnies, Real Funnies, SuperMouse, Happy Rabbit, Dizzy Duck, Peter Pig, Buster Bunny, Sniffy The Pup, Lucky Duck, and Willie The Penguin).

As Robb notes, there are many titles we can't host on the site but hopefully you'll find good stuff to enjoy.
I'm one of the superhero/action fans but I also read some humour strips and love Barks and his ducks.  Rupert Bear is a British newspaper strip also collected into volumes every Christmas and it's been a favourite since I was wee boy.  Also, Old Boot, the sausage snaffling dog from The Perishers, is great.  But you'll have to go find them elsewhere as they are not pd.

Looking at your OWN zany-style Funny Animal artwork, I would guess that you would like most of Ellis "Holly" Chambers' work, especially funny animal superhero, Cosmo Cat.  That's located in our Fox Features comic book section.  And I think you'd also like Jim Tyer's work he did for the Sangor Studio, ending up on ACG (American Comics Group) in Giggle, Ha Ha, Merry-Go-Round, Hi-Jinx, Funnybone, Chuckle, Laffy-Daffy, and America's Funniest Comics,  and Ned Pines' Better and Nedor titles, including Coo Coo, Goofy, Happy, Barnyard, Funny Funnies, Real Funnies, and Super Mouse Comics.  Tyer later worked on Mighty Mouse Comics for Paul Terry Studio.

I think that might be an exaggeration, but I hope it can be so in the future.  Most of the "Funny Animal" comic book choices I've chosen for review in this section, so far, were met wth luke warm responses at best.  For Pete's sake (no reference to the old-fashioned idiom), and perhaps to entice Electricmastro back, maybe I should choose our CB+ "Jim Tyer Collection", and The VEP (Victor Pazmiño) Funny Animal Collection in my next Reading Group turn as chooser?  We've already discussed Frank Thomas' work in Golden Age comics, but hardly touched upon his "Billy and Bonny Bee" series he drew for Dell's "New Funnies".  I might also choose Frank Frazetta's, Jack Kirby's, and Charles Biro's forays into the "Funny Animal" genre.  However, I should be careful to avoid showing any scans of their stories in the thread, to avoid any copyright issues, as Frazetta's Funny Animal comics work has been recently compiled and published in a commercial compilation reprint book.  I might also choose a comparison of Funny Animal superheroes, Cosmo Cat and Hoppy, The Marvel Bunny.

Also, trying to get more Funny Animal participation in The Reading Group, might spur me on to compile the PD Funny Animal work of Ellis "Holly" Chambers (Fox, Farrell, Charlton, Prize), as well as that by former Disney animator and Dell/Western's comic book artist, Ken Hultgren's PD work for Sangor Studios for Sangor's Creston/ACG, and Ned Pines' Better/Nedor/Standard Comics (which might spur me on to draw brand new cover drawings for the compilations I compile, IF I get really ambitious, and I hope, get some help from a few of our comics graphics-experienced fellow CB+ members).

I was happy to see a lot of one of my my heroes Vince Fago's work on here. I was more confused he did a character named Buster Bunny, later the name of the head honcho of Tiny Toon Adventures.

Vince Fago, in addition to working in animation, and being editor of Timely Comics during WW II, while Stan lee was in The US Army, worked as a partner with his brother, Al in The Fago Brothers studio partnering with Robert Farrell's comic shop on the series, Kiddie Kapers, and working some along with Al for JCA (Jason Comic Art studio) for various small comic book publishers.  Then, he worked several years as the artist on the "Peter Rabbit" newspaper strip, and took that drawing style with him to work on Avon Periodicals' Peter Rabbit Comic book series.  After that (apparently being known as a "Bunny Artist", he worked for Ned Pines' Standard Comics, drawing "Buster Bunny" (using the same design he'd used on Peter Rabbit).  He also worked with his brother, Al, again when the latter became chief editor of comedy genre comics at Charlton Comics drawing some filler stories for Atomic Mouse and Atomic Rabbit (Bunny) series.  After that, he illustrated Little Golden Books (many were series starring animation characters).

All Vince's work for Farrell, JCA(for several small 1940s comic book publishers) is on this website, as are all his Peter Rabbt stories, and some reprints in that series of some of his newspaper strips, as are all his Buster Bunny stories.  Unfortunately, ALL his Timely 1942-1946 stories are NOT in The PD, so they are NOT here.  Most of his Charlton stories are also here.
