Madam Fatal meets the Jester, the man who laughs at death.
Starts of with the Jester robbing a broker by the name of Rufus Vern, we then see a group of newspaper headlines showing the Jester has been on a week long spree of daring robberies. We then see Stanton the Professor Mason and the Professor's new assistant Paxton, after Paxton leaves Stanton and the Professor are discussing a new experiment that will be completed that night, but there is an eavesdropper who seems to be the Jester listening in on the conversation. During this conversation Stanton notices a picture of a young man playing tennis on the Professor's desk and asks who it is. It is the Professor's son Robert, the picture was taken when he was 20, there is a prominent scar on the young man's left hand Stanton asks about it and is told it was the result of a fall he had as a child, the Professor has not seen the lad for years. Seems the boy did something his father did not agree with, there was an argument, the Professor threatened to disinherit him and then later Robert vanished without a trace, the father seems hopeful his son will turn up one day.
It seems the experiment is finished, and will be of great benefit to the U.S. government, next thing the Jester bursts in asking for the formula, which is of course in code, the Jester asks for the real thing but the Professor refuses, there is a fight and Stanton is knocked out, the Jester takes the Professor at gun point to his boss who will make him to talk. When Stanton comes too he realises the Jester was actually one of Ratney's mob, he then goes home dons his Madam Fatal disguise and snoops around the gangs hideout. Madam fatal is found snooping by one of Ratney's gang and at gunpoint taken to see the boss, we then find out it was a fake Jester, and Paxton had been one of Ratney's men keeping an eye on the Professor and his experiment so they would know when to steal the formula.
The real Jester was actually eavesdropping on this conversation and reveals himself, he is not happy about Ratney trying to pin the theft of the formula on him. Madam Fatal saves the Jester from a thug trying to creep up on him and then a fight breaks out. With the words "First come first served!" the Jester takes on the gang while Madam Fatal and the professor race up the stairs to the roof. After holding the gang off the Jester meets them up there, blocking the rooftop door behind him, but the door will not hold them long. The Jester uses a strong rope to lower the Professor to an adjoining rooftop, the Jester turns to Madam Fatal and she says "I know your wanted by the police, Jester, but you've just saved a grand old man and a piece of paper worth plenty to our country!" The Jester replies "And you saved me too, lets shake on it!" While shaking hands madam Fatal recognises the scar on the Jesters hand, its Robert the Professors son. After lowering Madam Fatal to safety the gang breaks through the door and the Jester wildly lowers himself over the side of the building, making a leap to safety as Ratney shoots the rope. The Jester waves goodbye to the Professor and Madam Fatal, the Professor says "There he goes Madam-and he'll never know how much l owe him for this, Madam Fatal is thinking "Ha-ha-he'd be a poor son if he didn't do as much for his own father!"
