We now have a nice wee Spanish SF mini-series, Guerra a La Tierra, 1945. Art by Liquois.
I think this might originally have been a French title. not sure so ant info greatly appreciated.

Yes, this was originally Guerre a la Terre, and first appeared as a serial in Coq Hardi. Your 1945 date is off; the French serial ran from 1946-1947. Script by Marijac. Art by Auguste Liquois and later Pierre "Dut" Deuteurtre.

I was pleased to find that while I don't know diddly about the Spanish language I was able to follow this story very nicely.
Many years ago I studied Esperanto a bit and found I could muddle through most of the printed reading materials I found in that language.
A friend later told me that spoken Esperanto was nearly identical to Portugese.

Another superhero today. This is really obscure - well to me anyway - I'd never heard of this character.
Marsifan appeared in 1952 and ran into 1953. I've uploaded the only 8 issues I could find. The box at the end of #8 says there is another issue to come. If anyone can come up with more, or any info on publisher etc. please let us know.
Art on #1 - 6 by Brea. Art on 7 & 8 by F. Javier. Weird, confusing page layouts but some good superheroics

Something a bit different today as we have a French pocket library issue, Mes Histoires Illustrees, 1958, which is a reprint of Schoolgirls Picture Library #4. There was a short series of Vera's adventures in SPL. This is the first of them.

Also a French photo comic from the Olivia de Haviland film A Chacun Son Destin/To Each His Own of 1946.
Photo comics were very popular in Europe and South and Central America. I think this is in its turn a reprint of an Italian photo comic. All info gratefully received. A few were tried in the UK but to no great success.

Crash and I are adding to the Spanish section and today, I've uploaded 3 new titles. Boro-Kay is a title I mentioned a while ago and I thought I had the short run, but they were only cover illos. After a lot of digging I found the comics. An interesting and enjoyable take on the young lad who adopts an alter ego, wears a mask and totes a gun. Enjoy his adventures here:-

Captain, reading non English language comics can really help with becoming familiar with another language. That's how I started my love affair with Italian, a lot ofthe impetus to read Italian comics coming from Mick McMahon, way back when we ran comic marts in Glasgow and he came up often with Kevin O'Neill. McMahon could read Italian, and I fancied trying to understand the stories in fumetti.
Keep it up, look for classes. Not a lot of work and you'll be proficient enough to understand what's going on in the tebeos.

A bit of a rarity today. I've found the first Rikki Visser book by Jan Dirk van Exter. The strips originally appeared in a Dutch newspaper in the '40's. This album was released in 1947 and is a balloon strip. There were 4? other Rikki Visser adventures, a couple? in textstrip form. As far as I can see, this story has not been reprinted.
I'm a fan and managed to pick up reprints of later albums in The Netherlands.
