Thanks Narf, I've added your info on Super-Dooper 7 to the download descriptions.
This series seems like a great source for old Centaur and Harvey material.

Hi-School Romance
« Reply #505 on: May 02, 2009, 08:15:00 PM »

I got a copy of Hi-School Romance 68. A reprint of #10 or is it? Some story pages have been left out which made for some editing of the other pages. I will use the already scanned pages and be adding the changed pages. Interesting to look at how things were changed so I advise getting both issues and comparing for the heck of it.

Sweethearts_044_c2c appears to be a failed upload.  It's only 11.03 MB.  Can we get a resend?

Thanks!

Now available. Interesting to compare 68 with what it reprints #10 and see the editorial changes.

Well it is even more different than I thought. I scanned the pages I thought were different but found that most have wording changes. So I have to scan the whole book for posting. Then you can compare the two books to see what the editor changed.

Here is a rare gem either Australian or New Zealand with no identifying info. It has black and white reprints from Qualities Buccaneer title. How many of these are still around Mr. Gerber?

Thanks Narf, Nickle was a repreat of one we had so I dumped it.
I'm not sure that post 1949 Lou Fine reprint is kosher either...    :-\

Nickle was listed as an update it may not have been any better did not have a chance to check it. I never heard of the strip so thought it unlikely that it was renewed.

I checked the Nickle against my copy, it was not adjusted in anyway.  No biggy.  The file size being the same was a clue.  ;)
I was more worried the Fine strip looks like came from a modern reprint.  Originals of PD material are ok but I've heard Aussie and John C warn about reprints to be very wary of adding any here.

Another batch from Even Steven
« Reply #519 on: June 21, 2009, 08:47:00 PM »

Charlton
Unusual Tales 8 15
Lawbreakers suspense 13
Never Again 1
\\
DELL
Life Stories of American Presidents

Adam Ames is listed as coming from an original art site. Since they are unaltered they would still be OK here as the reprints would have been from public domain. The problem with most reprints is if they have been uncolored to Black and white or recolored that would not be public domain any longer

Thanks for clairifying things Narf.

When you are adding these books please try to follow the same naming scheme as existing titles on the site ok?
This way the read in numerical order and the risk of duplicating uploads drops dramatically.  I usually double check the folders of books I've uploaded to be sure they appear in proper order.

Thanks for the latest goodies,
:)

What did I miss. I generally try to change them on the ftp so the file name and display name are all proper?

Well I cannot see the comics mentioned here but Life Stories Of American Presidents was removed as it is not public domain, hardly any of the later Dells will be PD so please be very careful to check before uploading a Dell title not already on the site and do not upload anything after 1955 before having it checked.

I guess they could change their minds but I think current Dell has claimed no record of ever having done comics.

True enough Narf and they could do that anytime they want and we would be in the wrong.
'Better safe than sorry' is always a good idea.
