Now I would like to join so I can get some of the scans I need...like early issues of The Funnies that Sheldon Mayer edited with M. C. Gaines: #s 1-29

And some issues of Picture Comics that I need would also be nice.

I think I was a member here a few years ago, but for some reason I can't log in.

VERY glad to have you here, Jeff.  Between you, Jon, and me, we're within 138 pages of having The Funnies 1-29 complete.  At least, I think it's the 3 of us; it's possible one or two issues were from somebody else and have been floating around a while.

(We need the FC/ IFC of 22,  as well as all of 27 and 29.  And I think Jon's got 27 and 29 in the works.)

Thanks for welcoming me to the group...

The issues of The Funnies that I've scanned and posted to abpc (alt.binaries.pictures.comics) over the years are #s 1, 4, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 19, and 26... (If you want to see a complete list of the Golden Age comics I have scanned, please let me know.)

I guess my friends (i.e. "loftypilot," "yocitrus," etc.) have been posting different people's scans here (including theirs & mine) for awhile now.

As for being able to download scans I need from the main GA UK site...I keep getting an error message and haven't been able to download anything yet. "Jon" from abpc (and the Sheldon Mayer list Yahoo! Group) said that he can put some of the comics on abpc for me, but it's still frustrating that I can't get anything from here yet.

Oh Well... Stuff happens!!

Hey Jeff -- great to see you here.

I've got Funnies #27 half scanned and 29 wil be after that -- I hope to finish this weekend.  I believe Other Eric is scanning #24 (since I sent him the covers and first wrap), but I've got the whole thing just in case.

On my other scanner here at work , I'm slowly working through Fairy Tale Parade #2.  I need to check if that can be uploaded here, but it will go to ABPC in any case.

Hi Jeff !  Glad you made it back and are able to download from the main site again.  I was actually saving all of The Funnies for you that the guys have been so generous with here lately.  Aren't they something!
If you have any trouble at all with anything in the future please, by all means give me a shout.
