Barring someone who types faster than me, let me be the first here to congratulate you on getting this together.  Heh--Since I think both major Presidental candidates (oh, for the benefit of the folks outside the United States, we had a quiet little election thing going on, yesterday...) kind of smell of socialism, this is most likely the best news item of the day.

I might have beat you but went to my email and typed a fairly long message there. This group in general seems more conservative than the group I was responding to. I look forward to the Hanks book. This page is a good example of why Hanks has such a following.

Holy Cats!  What a splash page!!
You can be sure of a sale here Paul.  I can't wait!
I'd love to know more about the tragic man behind the stories but I expect you've found all you are likely to find.

Thanks for continuing the project.  Let us know when things are progressing on v2.

Much to everyone's surprise, "I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Planets is in its 4th printing!

I actually had to bring my own box to SPX as Fantagraphics had run out of copies a month ago. So I do not have any for sale, but if anyone here buys a copy, I would be happy to do a nice little drawing in it and inscribe it if you mail it to me.

I still have some t-shirts for sale over at

Sorry, maybe I am not supposed to be pitching goods (like Fletcher Hanks t-shirts)  at this Board. Please excuse me if i have transgressed protocol.

It has appeared that most have done more to offer to buy than your pitching to sell.

Sales pitches are _generally_ discouraged.  But if it's relevant to the site and posted by somebody who actually participates we don't really mind; it's drive-by spam that would annoy us.  Like narf said, some of us were asking about buying, answering is quite appropriate.

For the past several months I have had a complete set of Fletcher Hanks stories except for one single elusive tale from Daring Mystery #5. For some reason this particular issue is extraordinarily rare. Frankly, I had just about given up hope.

Foolish mortal!

Thanks to a generous West coast collector and Mr. William Parker for coming forward with a nice crisp scan ready for publication in, "You Shall Die By Your Own Evil Creation!"

Rumblings have sounded in some quarters that Volume II of The Complete Fletcher Hanks will be a diluted version of Volume I which has been misperceived as a Best-Of Collection. Volume II will contain stories that equal if not surpass many of the best tales from Volume I. In fact, the final missing story from Daring Mystery #5 is one of the all-time greats as shown in the crackerjack first page attached.

Nothing can now stop me from my plan to overtake the planet!

That looks sweet!!!

B. :)

I agree.  Timely information about a product of direct (and expressed) interest to us "locals" hardly qualifies as spam.
