The guide actually gives dates for the run as follows,
#1 1946_unnumbered to #11_1947. #1 to 8 are listed as being published by Algar Printing but #9, 10, 11 published by L. Burn. According to Ernesto's note on #11, this was a company in Newcastle upon Tyne.
#9 is listed as a Christmas issue, so the dates sort of tie up.
I'm pretty sure the strips were originals done for this comic. The style and content are old-fashioned, as a lot of childrens' comics were in the '40's and before.
