Hi Jim,
I think the donation date would be the best indicator if PayPal keeps track of them for you.
I don't know Astrp3's real name either.

For now I'll assume his $25.00 made it to you and we are short $2.75.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Astrp3 mentioned a second $25.00 would arrive at some point as well which would give us a little buffer again.

-Yoc

Yes, the date was right, Yoc,
and it DID say something about a "first payment". Just a reminder to donators: please reference your GAC alias on any donation so that I can keep Yoc (and this thread) current. Thanks.

Today I mailed one pack to OtherEric @ $20 and tomorrow the second one goes out at $14.45. Add those to the $2.75 we're short and the total is:

short - $37.20

Peace, Jim (|:{>

Thanks for the update Jim.

OK PEOPLE - the number is getting up there again.

PLEASE, if you've got some spare cash send it via PayPal to Jim to help continue this vital project.
WE ALL ARE ENJOYING IT'S FRUITS.

Jim's PayPal account is orders@bpib.com
Please mention your GAC online name as well so we know who to thank and send some karma to.

I just sent Jim $20 to cover one of the packages to me.  If nobody jumps in I'll cover the other one in a couple days.  I can't cover books to everybody but I'm doing well enough to cover Jim's books to me if need be.

With that said, I really appreciate any help people can give for this project.  I'm already covering the postage BACK to Jim, and it does add up.  Thanks!

$20 received, Eric,
Thanks. Personally I think you scanners are amazing since you're devoting all that time AND paying for the return postage. THIS donation is above and beyond...

ps. Yoc,
your link to the 100 recent scans doesn't work. Is it somehow truncated?

No worries, Jim.  Don't get me wrong, it would be nice if others could cover half the postage since the scanners are a) scanning and b) covering the return postage.  But there is one person who I want to be burdened with the cost even less than the scanners, and that's you.   :)

Hi Jim,
Yes, we know about the bug on the 100 Latest List Jim.
Nothing I can do.  Serj the owner and admin of the site is aware of it and said he'd look into it.
The site seems to be fine so eventually we'll have 100 new scans and it'll fall off the bottom.

yep, I just sent in $10.00 as well. Small price to give at $5 or $10.

and if enough folk would just take the time to do the process it would all add up pretty quickly to enough of a sum to keep the mails lubed up and ready for another run at the mountain.

You've heard it said before but it's worth repeating, this is a fine thing JVJ has done opening his collection like this and certainly puts him in a 'Good Ol' Boy of Comicdom' status.

This is a permanent input into the world's comic archives which will be made available throughout eternity to the now and future generations of readers.

Many thanks to Eric, Rez, BChat and Ubantuban for stepping up and donating towards this vital project!!
+1 karma to all!  :)

People, this is the single most important ongoing project that is running here.
A quick search of the site for JVJ will show you just how many books Jim has donated for scanning and a check of the JVJ Books Wanted List shows you just how many MIGHT one day be available on the site - but it all hinges on our members helping Jim with the postage.

This need will be ongoing so if you haven't donated yet PLEASE consider it.  Even a small sum will help!
Todate we are...
-37.20
+20 from Eric,
+10 from both Rez and Ubantuban
+5 from BChat
and I've just donated another $20 myself so...

Our surplus is now $27.80.
:D
(Jim, please check my numbers.  It took all my fingers and toes and then some!)

Thanks Gang and please keep it coming!

I ponied up 20 for the fund. The Weird Thrillers, Authentic Police Cases, Crown Comics, etc. as of late have been very cool to see.  Thanks to Jim and all the scanners.  I have no doubt the library being built here will make the golden age accessible to whole new generations of fans and researchers the globe over.  That Jim is letting us scan from his mind-boggling collection is beyond awesomeness, so keep the postage funds coming peoples.   8)
