July 14: The Manifesto of Race is published in Italy. Benito Mussolini declares Italians to be Aryans and superior to non-Europeans.

July 14: Howard Hughes completes a round-the-world flight in a Lockheed Model 14 Super Electra in 91 hours, 14 minutes and 10 seconds.

July 15: The refugee conference in Évian-les-Bains ends with little accomplished. No country is willing to accept any Jews except for the Dominican Republic.

July 17: Douglas Corrigan takes off from Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York supposedly heading back to the West Coast after being denied permission to fly across the Atlantic. To the bewilderment of a few onlookers present, his plane turns 180 degrees and vanishes in a cloudbank.

July 18: Douglas Corrigan lands in Dublin, Ireland claiming to have gotten lost. Authorities don't buy his story and suspend his license, but 'Wrong Way' Corrigan became a national celebrity back in America.

July 23: Jews in Germany are ordered to report to police by December 31, 1938 to receive special identification cards that will be required for all dealings with government officials.
