Is this racist, or patronising, a mix, neither, or something else? Some of the "gags" are based on having the Aborigines' lifestyle expressed in terms of familiar "sitcom" style activities (gender roles, children vs. parents, social life, and so on) with the humour arising from the contrasts and parallels between the two worlds. Other jokes are more or less "neutral," in that the fact that the characters are Aborigines is more or less irrelevant. There is some minor poking fun at non-Aborigines. There are even a few cartoons which seem to be honestly sympathetic, and not too many which appear really hostile or mocking. Not being Aborigine, Australian, or even a person of colour, I am somewhat at a loss to know how to feel about this. Very nice artwork, though.
