Was the character "Slipper" in the first daily strip meant to be a knockoff of Sexton Blake's Tinker? So far as I can tell from Wiseman/Paw Broon's uploads, "Slipper" never appears again. Giving Ryan Zola for a sidekick instead was indeed a wise choice on Monk's part, IMHO.
