This episode marks the origin of Little John's joining Robin and his merry band in Sherwood. The premise of devious deceit used on an innocent and the stewardship of the much more worldly Robin Hood holds up quite well. The fight scenes are obviously choreographed and labored, but overall this is an adventure that stoked the enthusiasm of many a lad who would have loved to venture into Sherwood Forest to Join Robin and his merry band
