Anyone else notice that on pg. 26, in the house ad announcing the winners of a contest, the first winner named is "Alexander Toth, Jr." of New York, New York? I suspect this might be THE Alex Toth, who would have been about 15 at the time, lived in NYC, and was either just then or shortly thereafter starting to work in comics. For those who don't recognize the name, he worked from the late '40s-early '50s at National/DC, drawing JSA, Green Lantern, and others. He also did some newspaper strips, but he became beast known for his work with Hanna-Barbera, where he created SPACE GHOST, THE HERCULOIDS, Birdman- basically all of their "adventure/superhero" cartoons. He also drew horror and war comics for DC. One of the greats, who literally died at his drawing table!
