Having scanned the 300 or so issues of the magazine that I have I agree that there looks to be some interesting reading there. The fact that John Hunter wrote so many stories for the magazine is a great plus as he was a major author of boys' stories and also Sexton Blake and others in adult writing. Unfortunately there are gaps in most of the serials that I fancy reading, mainly SF and detective, and hopefully someone will eventually find and scan the remainder.
One SF/school story that is complete is 'The Planet Schoolboys' in issues 278 to 291. This was by Edwy Searles Brooks, another major boys' and adult author who wrote most of the Nelson Lee stories. I consider it to be a good story from 1927. It was re-written in about 1950 with names changed and small parts of text altered. This can be found on the Friardale website if anyone is interested in comparing the two versions.
As I have no more Boys' Magazines to scan and edit I can get back to working on more issues of Sexton Blake Library which I hope to upload over the next month or so.
