Hi there,
it was around 2018 when I was doing research for my doc "Haunted Thrills" which is now on my YT channel.  Comicbookplus is also in the end credits. On youtube @horrormike.
I love golden age including Baily Spectre and pre-code horror comics.  I am doing a small book on the subject now and am seeking hi-res scans of covers and some interior pages if anyone who uploads pre-code horror comics is interested.  Can offer credit and ad space inside of book.

I was looking for some interesting images to use for collage and watched a YouTube video. This site made the list. I love vintage layouts and types faces.

Enjoy the site, much to enjoy and learn about here.

Anyway,
Welcome aboard!

Hi Steve.  Welcome to CB+.  Glad you found your way here.  As Panther asks, are you from Scotland? As that's where I am, it's great to welcome a fellow countryman aboard. If not, still great.  Lots to discover and read and please join in the conversations.

I found you by chance on Google! I already knew the DCM website and I was wondering if any other webpage provided faster reading and different books or even more books: glad I found you :)

Apart from this forum, is there a place to ask questions? or the easiest thing is to ask them by email?

Thanks,
Emanuele

evivoli ,Welcome. Come on in and enjoy!
There are three ways to ask questions - for technical questions,
1/ Look at the top left of the homepage. See the menu with yellow lettering on a black background.
Click on 'Contact' If your question is technical or you have a question about the working of the site and someone from ADMIN will get back to you.
2/ If you just want to talk about comics (and please do), to the left of the heading COMIC BOOK PLUS there is a list in blue.
The top one is Forum. Click on that and you will find a number of threads.
Click on the most appropriate one and start a Post. You will start a conversation and someone will reply to you. Or read a thread that interests you and add a new comment if you are inclined.
The links at the top of each thread that are in Dark Blue that are pinned, are permanent. You post will appear under them.
3/ Just start a post on the 'General Discussion' Forum on the home page.

Please take your time. Read as many of the threads as you can, and click on as many links on the site as you can. The site is enormous and well-worth exploring. The discussions in the Forum threads are just as informative (and fun) as the comics, books and radio shows.
Again, Welcome. Glad to have you.
cheers!

A Giggle comic book caught your eye to find us, eh?  Could that possibly mean that you are a fan of "Funny Animal" comics? -Or just really old comics?

Hello Chris.  Welcome to CB+ Glad you found your way here.  Some of us also love old radio shows, although my references are British shows, so a lot of them might not mean much to folk in other countries.
But we have lots of radio shows:-

Welcome Christopher, Your are glad to be here. We are glad to have you here!
Plenty to do and see here.
I tried to access your website, but for some reason my computer throws up a serious security warning and won't let me access it.
However I did have a look at your YouTube site. If that's all your work, then you are developing into an excellent story-teller.

And yes, hands are hard to draw - as are feet - look at some of the art on this site and you'll see that it's not an uncommon problem. Again, welcome.

We have a number of active members who are Canadian Citizens.
We are also trying to build up our French and Spanish comic collections.
So  you have come to the right place.
Most of those of us active here are in in the same age bracket!
I get the interest in 'Katy Keene.' I remember the clothes pattern  pages.
You won't find Katy Keene here ((for Copyright reasons) but there are similar comics here with clothes patterns. Since that's not one of my interests, I don't remember where and can't point any out to you. But happy browsing.
And again welcome.

Welcome Pete!

Nice to see another Funny Animal fan here!  We are few and far between here, as compared to Superhero and other human figure action-based series fans.  We have a lot of relatively obscure Public Domain Golden Age funny animal series on this website, which usually provide a lot of enjoyable reading and comic art viewing as  "eye candy" even for veteran readers of that genre.  Unfortunately for such fans, virtually all of the Golden and Silver Age animated cartoon film-based characters' series are still under copyright ownership, and so, NOT in The Public Domain, and so, cannot be uploaded onto this and other websites and not be available to the general public.

However, a lot of good Funny Animal comic book art, drawn by moonlighting animators IS displayed here in our PD series, such as the Sangor Studios series published by American Comics Group (ACG), (Giggle, Ha Ha, Hi-Jinx, Funny Films, Merry-Go-Round, Laffy-Daffy, and America's Funniest Comics), and Nedor/Standard Comics' (Coo Coo, Goofy, Barnyard, Happy, Funny Funnies, Real Funnies, SuperMouse, Happy Rabbit, Dizzy Duck, Peter Pig, Buster Bunny, Sniffy The Pup, Lucky Duck, and Willie The Penguin).

Other publishers' Funny Animal series include: Ace Magazines' Monkeyshines and Fun Time Comics; Ajax-Farrell's Kiddie Kapers, Hi-Ho Comics, Daffy Tunes, Billy Bunny, Mighty Ghost, Spunky, Frisky Animals On Parade, & Mighty Bear Comics; Novelty Press' Frisky Fables, Star Comics' Frisky Animals, Holiday Comics, & Super Animals (3D); Quality Comics' All Humor Comics, Hit Comics, Buster Bear, Egbert(Chicken), Marmaduke Mouse, and Hollywood Comics; Orbit/Wanted Comics' Taffy & Toytown Comics; Dearfield Publishing's Foxy Fagan & Red Rabbit; Other Titles' Animal Fables; Toby Press' Two-Bit The Wacky Woodpecker; Magazine Enterprizes' Cowboys & Injuns, Hot Dog, Koko & Kola, Tick Tock Tales, Ding Dong, & Muggsy Mouse; Hillman Periodicals' Punch & Judy Comics; Harvey Comics' Rags Rabbit, Buzzy The Crow, Nutty Comics, Funny 3-D & Clown Comics;
Fox Features' Cosmo Cat, Wotalife, Nutty Life, Crazy Life, Animal Crackers, Jo-Jo, Zoot, Li'l Pan, Ribtickler, & All Top Comics; Fawcett Publications' Fawcett's Funny Animals & Animal Fair; Eastern Color Printing's Jingle-Jangle Comics and Dover The Bird; Dell Comics' Animal Comics & Tiny Tot Comics; Charlton's Zoo Funnies, Jack-In-The Box Comics, Atom The Cat Atomic Rabbit/Atomic Bunny, Atomic Mouse, Funny Animals, Tom Cat, & Timmy The Timid Ghost; and Avon Periodicals' Funny Tunes, Merry Mouse, Space Mouse/Space Comics, Peter Rabbit, & Spotty The Pup/Super Pup; Parents' Magazine's Calling All Kids & Funny Book; Prize Comics' Wonderland Comics; St John's Bingo (Monkey), Kid Carrots, & Basil The Royal Cat; Timor's Animal Adventures &Peter Cottontail; Spotlight Publishers' Latest Comics, Three Ring Comics, Teen Town Comics & Bee-29 Comics, Lev Gleason's Cryin' Lion, Candy, and Hollywood Comics, Stanhall's Muggy-Doo Boy Cat, and Nation-Wide Comics' Do-Do (Dog Clown).

I hope you'll get many, many hours of enjoyment reading comics here, and that you will also participate in our forum, discussing the books.

I also invite you to check out our Comic Book Reading Group, where we read obscure comic books and discuss them and their writers and artists, as well as our Comic Talk section, where we discuss the books, and have special threads which include an Artist Identification Thread, a Comic Book Artists Who came From Animation thread, Comics From Around The World thread, Comic Books Recommendation thread, and other interesting threads where you can learn a lot and get your questions answered by comic book experts.

Have fun!
