The Wold Newton Universe

Don't know if the Wold Newton Universe has ever appeared on C B+, but if not, its about time.

I first came across it quite a few years ago while surfing the web. It was a revelation to me how many french comics and book characters were in existance, and european in general.
I had been a fan of Phillip Farmer's books so the name was familiar to me. Wold Newton was the name of a place in Britain when a stagecoach full of people was affected by a meteor. They all gained powers and were the ancestors - in Farmer's fiction - of Tarzan, Sherlock, Professor Challenger, Doc Savage and many More.

Scroll down the page to get started.

But the name has become a catch-all for connected fictional characters and crossovers.
But the site I landed on back then was this one;

Yeah, scroll down to the timelines at the bottom. Pretty much a guide to every fictional character imaginable.
Great resourse!

And yes, Alan Moore - most of whose work I am a fan of, is a post-modern writer - in that he reworks existing concepts. Extraordinary Gentlemen is a bastard child of the Wold Newton Universe.
So Jump in and enjoy!  But be warned, you can get lost in this stuff!

I had been a fan of Phillip Farmer's books [...]

I have a nice collection of PJF's works, especially the Riverworld novels I find absolutely successful and magnificent and I read it several times. As a Jules Verne fan, I found 'The Other Log Of Phileas Fogg' as well as amusing like interesting.  :)
