As it's about time I did a bit of work around here, I've uploaded the first 10 issues of Inspector Dan. This is a tasty weekly loaded with action and well done by Eugenio Giner.

A new addition to the French language section with a landscape title from around 1950, I think. The comic was found on an obscure internet site and I have no idea who the original scanner was. This could be quite a rare item, at least I've never seen it before. Art by Nazieb, who was a prolific French comic artist - see the Lambiek link on the entry:-

A cigarette card album, circa 1930's, featuring BBC radio personalities incl. Gracie fields, The Hulbert Bros. band leaders etc. This was issued by W.D. & H.O. Wills and the album cost 1d (one penny).
I found this in a local charity shop and it is in pretty bad nick, so if anyone wants to have a go at improving the quality of the scans, please go ahead.

I started Googling from the front of the book to find clues to a publication year, only to discover that in Sir Henry Wood's entry the writer says right out that "this year" is 1934. So I guess this was published in 1934. I found many interesting stories about these fellows. George Allison was the Beeb's leading soccer announcer even while he was boss of Arsenal F.C. Wasn't that considered a conflict of interest back then? Derek McCulloch has been accused of sexually abusing kids during his long run hosting "Children's Hour" while the BBC covered it up. Wikipedia calls Christopher Stone "the first disk jockey in the United Kingdom." I wonder what happened to his collection of 12,000 records, which had surely grown by the time he died in 1965. All very fascinating. Thanks for posting this document.

I stumbled upon 2 new Buffalo Bill issues, 1 with art by Denis McLaughlin, the other by Ron Embleton. Both published by TV Boardman/Popular around 1949/50. So, as we already had some Boardman/Popular books and annuals, I've made a new section and gathered them together. You can find them here:-

I liked Swift Morgan. Boy the art was way off or way on. Some really great looking panels and people and some pretty poor ones.

I agree with Narf on Swift Morgan. It looks like the best panels are when the artist had swipes or photos to work from. Still a commendable job. I'll bet King Zezon has a sore neck from supporting the weight of that horsehead helmet.

I have moved the previously unknown origin Swift Morgan story to the TV Boardman section as I'm now pretty sure it originated in either Boardman's Adventure Annual or New Spaceways Comic Annual.
The Buffalo Bill story that was in The British section is now in TV Boardman as it comes from Buffalo Bill Wild West Annual #3 (1952). Thanks to Bigwords for the info.
