Whiz 131 3 covers added
Whiz 145 added ifc bc

are now up on FTP.  Otherwise scans are same as previous incomplete versions.  Pages verified from Heritage in case of bcs and by reading through Heritage bc or fc for ifcs.

Planet #2 and #70 uploaded to FTP.  Both are JVJon scans.

Jim's #2 was missing cover, first wrap and centerfold.  Those pages were merged from our existing fiche scan except for cover and back cover which are from Heritage.

Uploading Planet #39 41 56 67 71
Boy Comics #80 103

#71 is mostly not my scan.  I've just made it ctc and added a few scans of pages of original art.

#67 is a JVJon scan and also has some pages of original art.

#56 is not my scan.  I'm not sure where it's from, but it is ctc unlike the one we already have here.

#41 is a recreation using the reprints from #70 along with the fiche pages from our existing scan.  I checked the pages to make sure they were identical.

#39 is just a plain old JVJon scan.

Boy 80 103 are NMS.  Not sure where I got them.

Fantastic work Jon!
Adding these now.

Note - I just might be MIA for the rest of the week so please either bug Narf or OtherEric or be patient and I'll add anything new when I get back.

Thanks again,

Planet #62, 63 uploading to FTP now.  Both are JVJon scans -- paper and ctc as always except the first page of the Mysta story in #62 had pieces cut out.  I've repaired that using the fiche scan we already had.

Thanks Jon.
A note about the file names - Please avoid using the apostrophe in any file names.  It buggers up the server.
I've renamed the file.  I've also renamed the Planet to - "Planet Comics 040 (paper)_JVJon"
This way it matches the others on the site, give you and Jon credit for the scan and tells them it's not fiche like my old one I did with Loftypilot a few years back.

I've got another Scarlet somewhere I'll add as well.
Thanks again for the uploads!

Sorry I always forget Comics is port of the title.  I almost never use that dating back to the old 8.3 days when name brevity was important.  There are a few exceptions when I've used the full title -- Comic Comics and The Comics come to mind.

The file name as you upload it to the site can be one thing - the name for it as it appears on the site can be another.
Try the UPLOAD FILE link on the site and you'll see what I mean.
I cover all of this in the visual Upload guide as well.
http://tinyurl.com/baucwb

The other bonus of this method is you can include a thumbnail of the cover which is always fun to see and offers a preview of the title.

Things will be slow from me for a bit still. My external drive on which I store all comic related stuff was beginning to act very flaky.  I got a new one and began transferring data, but I don't want to access it right now except to do that.  The raw, unedited JVJon scans were the first things I pulled off as I was the only one with copies of those.  They seem all intact except for one page, which I've asked Jim to rescan for me when the box arrives.

It looks like I caught it in time and I'll be able to save almost everything and replace what I can't save.

I realize that I'm parroting what EVERY computer geek in the world has said, Jon,
but you REALLY need to have a regularly scheduled backup program that runs automatically. Karen has drilled this into my head so hard that I'm reminding HER these days. Just DO IT. In fact, the very first thing you do when you get an important file is supposed to be "make a copy." Get a 500GB Western Digital My Passport Elite which comes with WD Anywhere BackUp which backs up your files in real time. You should be able to find one online for less than $150.

Then when the main drive gets flakey, you only have to worry about programs and settings. All of your email and scans and data and documents are ALREADY safe. Or, if it's an external drive like yours acting up, you'll already have a copy waiting in the wings. I haven't lost anything in the last decade, despite three major computer crashes. It is really worth it just for the peace of mind.

Peace, Jim (|:{>

As another recommendation from someone who's had an astonishing number of computers and drives crap out over the years, I highly suggest buying USB adapters for whatever sorts of hard drives you have on hand ("USB to SATA," for example).  You can usually get them for under twenty bucks, and it turns out that this controller circuitry is usually the weak link to the drive, especially the externals.  So, by popping it out of its box and plugging it in, you're back up and running for most purposes.

Interesting advice John, I figured they must be just normal HD's inside those fancy enclosures.

I've been have a bastard of a time getting a PCI-to-USB2 card to be recognized each time I turn on the PC.
I found it HAS to be in PCI slot 0 (the first one) to work at all but it usually doesn't work when I turn on the PC.
It can take multiple reboots to find it if at all.  Me thinks this old P4 1.7ghz machine is soon to be upgraded.

I seem to recall reading that there's a (lame) technical reason that USB cards need to live in the first slot, but it's been years and I might be confusing it with FireWire, SCSI, or any of the dozens of previous generations of "wonder technologies" whose entire purpose in life was to...complicate the serial cable.

If it's not consistent, though, then yeah, the motherboard is probably having issues.  To paraphrase a Marvel character, it could be Solderin' Time, in theory, if you have the patience.  But more likely, yes, "new computer" time.

(For reference, the Western Digital externals have a screw underneath a case-camouflaged sticker on the side.  Pry off the sticker, remove the screw, and the case comes right apart.  I point this out because the sticker is pretty close to invisible until you start looking for it specifically and the screw does a shockingly good job of holding the case shut.  I thought I was going to lose a finger trying to pull it apart...)
